Endeavor Forward Board of Directors
- Jim King (Board President), Operations Manager for Catalyst Fabric Solutions
- Chris Franklin (Board Vice Chair), Pastor of First Assembly of God in Cottondale, Florida, and also the Principal for Career, Technical, and Adult Education Programs for the Jackson County School District. He is a father of two sons with autism.
- Margaret Breland Watkins, RN, MSN (Board Secretary/Treasurer), retired from Jackson Hospital in 2020
- Kathy Gates Donofro, Permanency/Adoption Specialist with North West Florida Health Network
- Samuel Everett, Supervisor of Streets/ Facility/ Fleet Maintenance City of Marianna; Housing Authority Commissioner; Hospital Chaplain at Jackson Hospital; Sr. Pastor at Sunrise Worship Center, Inc.; U.S. Air Force veteran
- Shawn Larkin, former Director of Exceptional Student Education for the Jackson County School District
New Endeavor Forward board members include
- Nancy Breland, a nurse with Anthem Insurance Company on the wound and ostomy team. She previously worked for a wound company in Louisiana which had contracts in Chipley and Colquitt, Georgia, to treat wound patients. She also worked at Tallahassee Wound Care Center as the ostomy nurse and member of the wound care team
- William (Mickey) Gilmore, retired general manager of the Walmart Supercenter in Marianna and former board chairman of the Jackson County Economic Development Committee. He also served as the Chairman of the Board for the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and the co-chairman of the Tourist Development Council.
- Faye Yongue, a retired Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC) and Washington County School District employee with 50 years of service. She also worked with the Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System (FDLRS), where she provided support services to district exceptional education programs and to families of students with disabilities.
About Endeavor
As a community-integrated program, NextStep is located within the planned Endeavor Park community in Marianna, Florida. NextStep at Endeavor Academy prepares individuals with autism for transition beyond secondary school by providing instruction in employment and independent living skills.
NextStep at Endeavor Academy completed a successful 12-week pilot program in the spring of 2022. The inaugural two-year Transition Academy program will begin in August of 2022.
Future phases include residential living opportunities and community-wide engagement.
